October 31st, 2002… In the beginning, a Halloween
party rages on at a small club in San Diego. Starting off a set
of powernoise, the speakers pump “You Kill Me”, Obscure
Descension’s debut single. This would be the night that
Obscure Descension’s music emerges from the shadows.
Officially started
by Adam Lane in 2004, Obscure Descension is a solo Elektro/EBM
project. Since 1996, Obscure Descension is Adam’s third
music project. OD’s music is fueled by anger, depression,
and a bit of madness, creating a unique and diverse sound packing
cold harsh vocals, crunchy pounding beats, and dark suspenseful
synth lines, to slower, dark and fluid instrumental melodies.
Adam has been influenced by a broad spectrum of bands such as
Combichrist, Diverje, Wumpscut, Tamtrum, Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd,
Apoptygma Berzerk, and the Doors, (to name a few). Obscure Descension
has remained underground, releasing single tracks and remix projects
to the independent music community and streaming internet radio.
In early 2007, Adam plans to release Obscure Descension’s
debut album, “Darkness Binds”. In the meantime, OD
continues to make its mark in the underground music scene. |
